R.Parker (08/2014) 91-93/100 "A terrific success and star in this vintage, this blend of 90% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Cabernet Franc came from a mere 25 acres of vineyard and averaged 33 hectoliters per hectare, with close to 13% natural alcohol. The entire harvest took place September 30-October 12. The wine is impressive in this vintage, its beautiful, dense, blue/black color is followed by a striking nose of creme de cassis, blackberry fruit, charcoal and a hint of camphor. The wine is rich and medium to full-bodied, displaying surprising texture, depth and breadth. This is a rich wine with good acidity and ripe tannin. It is a relatively big boy for the vintage and should drink well in 2-3 years and last up to 15 or more. It is so good, it is clearly a sleeper of the vintage, even though Clinet has been doing fabulous work for a number of years."
James Suckling (02/2016) 91/100 "Aromas of black berry, blue berry, and wet earth. Full body, firm and silky tannins. A little hollow in the mid-palate but give it time to come together. Better in 2018.

Millesima "La couleur violette est sombre et similaire à celle d'une aubergine. Le nez de la Mission Haut-Brion 2010 est intense et complexe. Des notes de bois se mélangent à celles du cassis, de la réglisse et du chocolat. En bouche, le vin vous interpelle immédiatement par sa largeur et son côté expressif. Les tanins sont savoureux, la structure est portée par une incroyable fraicheur. Sur le plan architectural, nous pourrions prendre pour le Château La Mission Haut-Brion 2010 l'image de la Tour Eiffel. La structure visible permet de comprendre la construction. Bien que la quantité de matières nécessaires à celle-ci soit immense, elle parait légère et aérienne. Ces contrastes permettent de mieux comprendre le défi relevé dans ce Pessac-Léognan."
R.Parker 98+/100 "A strong candidate for a perfect score in about 15 years, the 2010 La Mission Haut-Brion could well turn out to be a modern-day version of their 1955. Sadly (or maybe fortunately) for me, I'm not old enough to have tasted the 1955 in 1958 from bottle, but this wine could also be an update on the more modern 2000 which, of course, I know well and actually own. This full-bodied, colossal giant of a wine is one of the goliaths of the vintage. It may well have the highest level of natural alcohol for any wine from the Left Bank of Bordeaux (15.1%) and has the definite potential to be a 50- to 75-year wine. Dense purple, it offers up notes of lead pencil shavings, charcoal embers, blueberry and blackberry liqueur along with massive concentration, a multi-dimensional mouthfeel and a monumental finish that goes well past a minute, which I think might be a record for a young Bordeaux. Keep in mind that the 2009, which I gave three digits, came in at 14.7%, but the pH of the 2010 is lower, giving the wine a freshness and precision that is remarkable. The final blend was 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, and - unlike the Chapelle de la Mission, which has 26% Cabernet Franc - there's only 1% Cabernet Franc in the 2010 La Mission Haut-Brion. This is a wine for those of you with youth on your side as well as patience. It will need a good decade of cellaring. An amazing wine. Anticipated maturity: 2024-2075+."
Vinatis "2010 a été une année sèche et aride pour la Mission Haut-Brion. Le manque d?eau a donné des baies particulièrement concentrées, notamment en sucre, permettant d?obtenir des valeurs quantitatives jusqu?alors jamais atteintes. Cette concentration induit également une proportion d?alcool plus conséquente, affichant un taux record de 15,1% sur ce millésime. Cet excès ne freine cependant ni l?harmonie, ni le potentiel de garde de cette bouteille. Au nez, les notes de bois, de cassis, de réglisse et de chocolat annoncent des arômes encore plus complexes après quelques années de garde. La bouche, ample et expressive, s?articule quant à elle autour de tanins savoureux et d?une structure d?une incroyable fraîcheur. Un véritable titan, prêt à affronter les années sans fléchir."

Millesima "La robe pourpre-rubis du château Clinet 2014 laisse place à un nez très aromatique, dominé par des notes gourmandes de framboises confiturées, de fruits noirs et de réglisse. Des fragrances qui évoluent ensuite vers des touches poivrées et toastées. En bouche, ce Pomerol possède une texture crémeuse et soyeuse, le Merlot étant dynamisé par le Cabernet Sauvignon et Cabernet Franc. Intense et douce à la fois, la bouche révèle des arômes de cerises et de fruits des bois. Un vin équilibré et rafraîchissant qui laisse présager la réussite d'un beau millésime."

Now in bottle, the bouquet has improved and developed more fruit concentration, armed with red plum, wild strawberry and blueberry scents. The palate is medium-bodied and quite refined, certainly not as opulent as other vintages from the estate, perhaps just missing a persistence on the angular finish. It is not a bad Clinet by a long stretch, it just feels a little constricted, especially compared to say the 2010 or 2015. I tasted this on three occasions, drawing the same conclusion each time."

Vinous (02/2017) 94/100 "The 2014 Clinet is powerful, deep and enveloping. Black cherry, smoke, graphite, chocolate and French oak give the wine its intensity and gravitas. Hints of lavender and violet develop in the glass, adding lovely aromatic nuance, but the 2014 remains a big, imposing wine in need of cellaring. This is impressive juice. Tasted two times. 94+ (AG)"

Guide Bettane & Dessauve - 18,5/20 - "Une bouteille liégeuse (cela arrive moins qu'avant, mais cela arrive !), une seconde très racée, expressive, avec des arômes nobles de cèdre et d'épices douces, et un tanin vraiment classiquement médocain. Apogée de 2018 à 2028."
Wine & Co "Ce millésime 2008 offre une robe rouge profonde violacée. La bouche est marquée par des arômes de fruits noirs (cassis/mûre) soulignée par des tanins veloutés. "
R.Parker (10/2016) 93/100 "Tasted from an ex-château bottle at BI Wine & Spirits Calon-Segur dinner in London. I praised the 2008 Calon Segur when I tasted it blind in 2012 and I have no reason to change my opinion three years later. Here it has a surprisingly deep hue for a 2008. The nose is very detailed and lively, more breezy and carefree than the 2009 with vivacious blackberry, cedar and graphite scents. The palate is medium-bodied and slightly brittle in texture on the entry. The acidity is beautifully judged here with superb balance: smooth and harmonious, though it just tapers in towards the edgy, maybe angular finish. This has a sense of joie-de-vivre perhaps not common in Calon-Ségur's wines. It is one of the best Left Bank wines in 2008 and given its price, one of its best values. (NM) "
Decanter (12/2017) 92/100 "Lovely rich flavours are on offer here right through the palate. It's beautifully stitched together, showing wonderful expression of cassis and bilberry with a kick of intensity from the St-Estèphe clay, with a floral overcoat. Millésima "Le château Calon Ségur 2016 dévoile au nez un bouquet d'une grande élégance, alliant les fruits noirs (cerises noires, myrtilles) et les épices (réglisse, baies de genièvre). En bouche, le vin se montre moyennement corsé, avec une jolie acidité et de magnifiques tanins. Il se révèle structuré, opulent, frais, avec de savoureuses touches poivrées et marines. Exceptionnel potentiel de garde."
R.Parker 96/100 "The 2016 Calon-Ségur is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot aged in 100% new French oak for 20 months. Deep garnet-purple colored, it is a little closed to begin, slowly revealing warm red and black currants, kirsch and plum preserves with wafts of fragrant earth, violets, chocolate box and wood smoke. Medium to full-bodied, elegantly expressed and finely crafted, it has a wonderfully fine-grained texture and bold freshness supporting the densely packed black fruits, finishing long and mineral-laced."
